Applied Ergonomics in Design SM Engineers, steering committees, health /safety professionals This 2-day program focuses on guidelines and criteria for workplace design and layout, tool/equipment design and selection, materials handling processes, and work methods. The emphasis is placed on building a knowledge base of applied ergonomics and on the application of an ergonomic workstation evaluation and solution development. A highlight of the course is the video workshop in which groups work together to analyze and make suggestions for improvement. |

Participants learn to video tape jobs and use several other data collection methods in order to quantify ergonomic hazards and develop solutions with appropriate justifications. This course includes a work measurement kit. |
Ergonomics for Health Care Professionals SM Health care professionals, occupational nurses This 4-hour seminar is customized for health care professionals. The focus is placed on recognition and treatment of Cumulative Trauma Disorders. Participants are provided with the skills to develop "quick fixes". An additional 4 hours may be added during which participants learn to perform workstation consultations and make appropriate "on-the-spot" ergonomic modifications. |
