Applied Ergonomics in Design SM

This 2-day program focuses on guidelines and criteria for workplace design and layout, tool/equipment design and selection, materials handling processes, and work methods. The emphasis is placed on building a knowledge base of applied ergonomics and on the application of an ergonomic workstation evaluation and solution development. A highlight of the course is the video workshop in which groups work together to analyze and make suggestions for improvement.

A special one-day module can be added to Applied Ergonomics in Design enabling participants to complete a detailed task analysis. Participants learn to video tape jobs and use several other data collection methods in order to quantify ergonomic hazards and develop solutions with appropriate justifications. This course includes a work measurement kit.

Ergonomics for Health Care Professionals SM

Health care professionals, occupational nurses

This 4-hour seminar is customized for health care professionals. The focus is placed on recognition and treatment of Cumulative Trauma Disorders. Participants are provided with the skills to develop "quick fixes". An additional 4 hours may be added during which participants learn to perform workstation consultations and make appropriate "on-the-spot" ergonomic modifications.

Practical Ergonomic Solutions SM

Supervisors, health /safety professionals, managers

This 4 to 8 hour customized training course enables participants to identify the potential causes of injuries and to devise prevention strategies based on ergonomic principles. The focus is placed on modifications to existing workplaces, tools and work procedures.

This 1-hour seminar teaches the employees correct body mechanics while performing material handling activities. Participants are shown the preferred way of lifting while performing various material handling tasks.

Ergonomics Plan Development

A written ergonomics process is critical in terms of both cost effective management and regulatory compliance. We have developed a Model Ergonomics Process based on management principles and OSHA recommendations. The process aims to:

Ergonomics Risk Evaluation & Prioritization

On-Site Ergonomics Engineer

We can provide you with a qualified ergonomics engineer on-site for a predetermined number of days a month on an on-going basis. The ergonomics engineer brings to your facility all of the resources and technical support of Enviro SafeTech, providing consulting and training services. Professional fees are subject to a minimum of 1 year contract.

Development of Design Specifications

A number of workstations may be analyzed and appropriate design standards can be developed for families of job tasks which have common equipment and processes. Design specifications are used to communicate and transfer engineering innovations amongst groups, departments and facilities.

Regulatory Compliance

We have had a successful track record of working with organizations who are in the process of complying with OSHA, state regulations or the ADA. We provide assistance by working with you to document your ergonomics efforts, or to develop and implement an abatement program.

Equipment and Design Evaluations

Ergonomic hazards are prevented primarily by effective purchase or design of workstations, equipment, processes and hand tools.
