  • The fit test will involve normal breathing, heavy breathing, bend and touch toes, reading the rainbow passage, side to side as well as up and down movement of the head.
• Upon passing the fit test each employee will be issued a fit test certificate detailing:
  • Respirator brand, size and model
• Respirator user name
• Person performing the fit test
• Protection factor achieved
• A hard copy of the fit test form will also be kept by Enviro Safetech.

REGULATORY REQUIREMENT

Cal-OSHA Title 8 General Industry Safety Orders (GISO) section 5144 Respiratory Protective Equipment regulation requires that respirator users be fit tested initially and annually thereafter for every type of respirator worn to determine if the respirator properly fits the user.
